okay so NYE is literally tomorrow and my sysco rep just told me they cant deliver until jan 2nd because of ‘holiday scheduling’
I NEEDED THAT ORDER TODAY
150 covers booked. 150. and I’m missing:
- 20 lbs of beef tenderloin
- lobster tails (was supposed to get 50)
- champagne butter (specialty item)
- microgreens for plating
the minimum order thing screwed me because I placed a smaller order last week thinking id get another delivery before nye. nope. ‘doesnt meet delivery threshold for holiday week’
im literally driving to 4 different stores right now. whole foods, costco, that sketchy meat guy in jersey. my sous chef is calling every supplier in the tri-state area.
this is what happens when you trust traditional distributors for your biggest night of the year. lesson learned the hardest way possible.
update: someone in the discord mentioned boxncase does same day in NYC?? calling them now
update 2: THEY CAME THROUGH. got everything delivered by 3pm. no minimum. the tenderloin quality is actually better than sysco?? i want to cry happy tears now
to anyone reading this for next year - have a backup supplier that doesnt have minimums. trust me.
