Just did the math on my food waste and i need a drink

okay so

been tracking every single thing we throw out for 30 days

results:

  • lettuce: 40lbs (forced to buy cases of 48 heads)
  • tomatoes: 60lbs (they were getting soft)
  • chicken: 30lbs (over-ordered to hit minimum)
  • various herbs: basically all of them
  • specialty items for failed specials: don’t ask

total value of waste: $1,847

IN ONE MONTH

that’s $22k a year i’m literally throwing in the garbage

i could hire another cook with that money. or like, pay rent on time

switching to boxncase tomorrow. cannot do this anymore
