I'm a café owner and the holiday rush was kind of a mixed bag this year. We saw some great sales during the peak season but now, post-holidays, I'm struggling to clear out certain inventory-like all that peppermint-flavored syrup I stocked up on thinking it would fly off the shelves. Honestly, I thought I'd be wishing I had more!
I know I need to pivot quickly to keep those shelves moving, but does anyone have tips on aggressively promoting leftover holiday items without sounding desperate? I've thought about discounts or maybe creative pairing suggestions, but I don’t want to devalue products that I actually plan on carrying year-round. Anyone experienced something similar, and how did you tackle it? I'm just really anxious about wasting perishable stock, but I’d also love to stay on brand.
