So, I run a small coffee shop in a college town and the winter months always throw me for a loop when it comes to snack options. Last year, I leaned heavily on baked goods, as they did okay. But honestly, sales were mediocre because I doubled down on what I thought worked. As students cuddle up with their lattes, I want to offer something different this time around but I’m not sure what’s going to sell.

Have any other café owners figured out a breakthrough snack that works like a charm? I’m thinking savory options like spicy popcorn or something with cheese, but I don’t want to break the bank or have too much waste. Honestly, I’m hoping for a snack that feels festive but isn’t just another gingerbread item that everyone else has. Would love to hear what has worked for you guys or if I should stick with classic muffins and brownies.

I run a coffee shop in a college town, and I've been thinking about adding more local snacks to my offerings. I've noticed that students seem to gravitate toward items made locally, but I’m unsure where to start. Honestly, anything beyond the usual brands feels like a gamble.

I've tried reaching out to a couple of local producers, but a lot of them have minimum order quantities that are tough for a small shop like mine. I absolutely don’t want to end up with a ton of inventory that doesn't sell. And then there's the whole pricing thing-how do I keep my margins while still supporting local businesses?

Have any of you navigated this before? What local snack items have worked for you? Odds are, I've never heard of them since I mainly stick with the bigger brands. I'm all ears for any stories, partnerships, or resources you might have!
